Updating Your Profile Information

You can easily update your personal information—such as your name, phone number, or address—directly from your profile page. Keeping this information current ensures your account stays secure and all important notifications reach you.

1. Open Your Profile

  • Click the dropdown arrow next to your name in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  • Select My Profile.

2. Edit Your Information

You can update fields such as:

  • Your name
  • Your phone number
  • Your mailing address

Tip: Make sure your phone number is accurate—it's used for two-factor authentication (2FA), account alerts, and delivery confirmation when vaults are sent to your recipients.

3. Save Your Changes

  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
  • Click Close when the confirmation message appears.
Note: Your updated information will immediately reflect in your account settings.

Best Practices for Keeping Your Profile Secure & Accurate

Your profile contains the information used for identity verification and secure delivery of your vaults. Following these best practices helps ensure your account remains safe and your loved ones receive the right information.

  • Use a phone number that belongs to you personally — avoid shared or work numbers that may change.
  • Always keep your address current so identity-verification checks are accurate.
  • Use an email you check regularly; this is where password resets, alerts, and delivery updates are sent.
  • Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to protect your vaults against unauthorized access.
  • Update your profile immediately if you change devices, move, or get a new phone number.
Reminder: Profile details are used to verify your identity before delivering vaults. Keeping this information accurate ensures your wishes are honored and prevents delays.

Understanding Your Profile Fields

Your IronClad Family profile stores personal information used for identity verification, secure vault delivery, and account protection. This guide explains every field in your profile, why it matters, and which items are optional.

Personal Information

This section verifies your identity and protects your vaults from unauthorized access.

  • Name (First & Last)
Used for account identity, verification, and legal record matching. Must match your legal name.
  • Country
Determines regional formatting (phone, address) and compliance requirements.
  • Mobile Number
    Your phone is used for:
    • Two-factor authentication (highly recommended)
    • Password recovery
    • Delivery confirmation for vault recipients
  • Important: This should be a personal mobile phone, not a shared or work number.
  • Address
Full street address used for identity verification and fraud prevention.
  • City, State, Postal Code
Completes your location profile for identity verification.
  • Email Address
Used for login, password resets, alerts, vault delivery notifications, and updates.
Reminder: Use an email you access daily. This is where all security alerts are sent.
  • Last 4 digits of SSN/SIN/IN/ESSN
Used for high-assurance identity verification when vaults are delivered (especially for wills, directives, and legal documents).  This helps prevent unauthorized users from triggering delivery.

Social Networks (Optional)

You may add links to your active social media accounts. These are optional and are used for:

  • Identity verification if we cannot reach you during a vault delivery check
  • Locating public obituary or death confirmations (when applicable)
  • Ensuring your beneficiaries receive vaults without delays
Good to know: Adding social media does not grant IronClad Family access to your accounts. We simply use the public profile page if verification is ever needed.
  • Twitter – optional
  • Instagram – optional
  • Facebook – optional
  • LinkedIn – optional

If you have no social accounts, check the option “I do not have social media.”

Two-Factor Authentication (Recommended)

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a secure second step when logging in. It protects your vaults even if someone obtains your password.

  • SMS Authentication – receive a code via text message.
  • Authenticator App – use Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, etc.
Highly Recommended: Enable 2FA to prevent unauthorized access to your account or vaults.

Why Keeping Your Profile Updated Matters

Accurate profile information helps ensure:

  • Your identity can be verified quickly
  • Your vaults are delivered correctly to your intended recipients
  • Your 2FA and recovery methods always work
  • Your beneficiaries experience no delays during a critical moment
Tip: Update your profile anytime you:
  • Move to a new address
  • Change your phone number
  • Switch email providers
  • Get married, divorced, or update your legal name
