Creating and Managing Your Funeral Plan with IronClad Family
IronClad Family’s Legacy Planning tools help you document your final wishes, including funeral preferences, in a way that is easy for your loved ones to find when they need it most. Your instructions are stored in your secure, zero-knowledge encrypted vaults and can be delivered automatically to the people you choose.
You can use our guided Funeral Plan wizard, type your own instructions, or upload documents and videos that explain your wishes in your own words.
Step 1: Open the Funeral Planning Area
1) From the left-hand navigation, click Funeral.
Step 2: Open Funeral Instructions
2) Under the Planning tab on the right, click Funeral Instructions.

Step 3: Create or Add Your Funeral Instructions
3) You have three options:
- Click Create Funeral Plan to use the guided wizard.
- Click Add instructions to type your own wishes in your own words.
- Use the Upload button to upload a document or video that explains your wishes.

Step 4: Move Through the Wizard
4) If you use the guided wizard:
- Click Next to move forward
- Click Back to review or change earlier answers

5) Be sure to Save your work periodically so you do not lose any details.
6) At any time you can click Save and Exit to pause your progress. When you return, you can resume right where you left off.
Step 5: Completion & Confirmation
7) Once you finish your plan, you will return to the main Funeral menu and see a confirmation message that your funeral plan has been successfully created.
Step 6: Assign Your Funeral Plan to Vaults
8) Make sure your funeral plan is actually delivered when your family needs it. Assign your funeral plan to one or more vaults that already have recipients and delivery conditions set.
- The funeral plan will be delivered based on that vault’s delivery trigger, such as death, incapacity, or manual delivery.
- You can assign the same plan to multiple vaults if you want different groups of people to receive it.

Important Notes
Your funeral plan in IronClad Family is designed to guide your loved ones and reduce stress during a difficult time. It may not replace any formal contracts or prepaid arrangements you have with a funeral home.
