Family Emergency Readiness Assessment
This self-guided assessment helps you understand how prepared your household is for an unexpected event such as serious illness, an accident, or death. It is not a test you pass or fail. It is a simple way to see where you are strong and where you may have gaps.
How to use: For each section, mark yourself as Green (complete), Yellow (in progress), or Red (needs attention).
1. Identity & vital records
- All family members have IDs and vital records uploaded.
- Names on documents match current legal names.
2. Medical & emergency information
- Health insurance cards and summaries are stored in the vault.
- Critical conditions, allergies, and medications are documented.
- Emergency contacts are listed and kept up to date.
- Emergency wallet cards are ordered and kept in your wallets.
3. Estate & decision-making
- There is a current will (and trust, if needed) for each adult.
- Powers of attorney and healthcare directives are in place.
- Guardians are named for minor children.
4. Insurance & income protection
- Life, disability, and long-term care coverage are reviewed and documented.
- Beneficiaries are current and match your intent.
5. Home, property & business
- Deeds, titles, and closing papers are stored in your vault.
- Business ownership documents and agreements are uploaded.
6. Digital life & passwords
- You use a password manager or clear system for online accounts.
- Instructions for crypto, domains, or online businesses are stored securely.
Next step: Turn your “Red” items into a to-do list. Add tasks on your calendar or bring them to your next meeting with your advisor or attorney.
You can complete a more detailed version inside your IronClad Family account, where your answers can drive reminders and checklists tied directly to your vault.
